Montesa Cota 301RR Servihonda Málaga 75th Anniversary

The Montesa Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary Special Edition arrives at Servihonda

The Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary is now at Servihonda: the brand’s tribute to three quarters of a century of history, an exclusive Special Edition of its most racing-focused model, available only during the 2021 season.

The Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary continues to use a lightweight aluminium frame and swingarm, as well as the petal brake discs fitted to the competition team’s machines at both ends, which gives it tremendous braking power.

In keeping with the similarities to the Montesa machines of the Trial World Championship, it features an aluminium silencer that increases durability, with greater silencer volume and a larger internal pipe diameter. Compared with the Cota 300RR, the 301RR benefits from a marked increase in torque throughout the rev range, with up to 16% more power and torque at low and mid revs.

The Cota 301 75th Anniversary still features the lightweight TECH suspension fork with aluminium stanchions and light machined aluminium wheel hubs, solutions that deliver a significant weight saving. At the rear it continues to use a SHOWA shock absorber that helps improve traction.

The 301RR, which is the most powerful Cota manufactured in series, is a motorcycle designed and conceived to compete, hence its RR (Race Ready) surname, inheriting the 300 cubic centimeter engine of the motorcycle that participates in the Trial World Championship.

Following the similarities with the Montesa of the Trial World Championship, it has the aluminum muffler, which increases the resistance, increasing the volume of the muffler and the diameter of the inner tube. The rear fender has also been renewed, presenting itself wider to better protect from splashes in wet areas.

The fork bottoms change from the gold of the previous model to black, against which the Montesa 75th Anniversary logo stands out — a logo that also appears on other parts of the Cota.

The Montesa Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary, which replaces its predecessor, brings a good number of design and styling updates, most notably the new red of the fuel tank and of the decals on the frame and beneath the tank — a clear nod to the classic colour worn by many of the brand’s models throughout its history.
