{"id":4062,"date":"2022-05-23T10:04:15","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T08:04:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/servihonda.es\/how-to-save-gas-on-your-motorcycle\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T15:22:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T13:22:00","slug":"how-to-save-gas-on-your-motorcycle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/servihonda.es\/en\/how-to-save-gas-on-your-motorcycle\/","title":{"rendered":"How to save gas on your motorcycle"},"content":{"rendered":"&#13;\n<p>With the rising price of fuel, <strong>filling our tank can even double the price we had previously set.<\/strong> That&#8217;s why we&#8217;re going to give you some tips <strong>to make your trips as economical as possible and save gas on your motorcycle.<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save gas on your motorcycle<\/h2>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Although the measures applied by the government help to reduce the cost of our trips, <strong>the price of fuel is still a headache on many occasions.<\/strong> <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>So that we can continue enjoying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.honda.es\/motorcycles.html\">our motorcycles<\/a> and the winding roads <\/strong>that brighten our weekends, we can take into consideration <strong>some tricks that will save us gas on our trips.<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">&#13;\n<li><strong>Check the condition of our tires and their pressures<\/strong>: it is something that may be very obvious, but that we often overlook. Tire wear is easy to see, but tire pressure can vary without being very apparent. <g id=\"gid_1\">Tires <g id=\"gid_2\">below the recommended pressure<\/g> will make the surface in contact with the road greater, increasing friction and therefore fuel consumption<\/g>, in addition to causing greater wear on our tires. Remember to keep your tires at the pressure indicated by your motorcycle manufacturer for perfect handling and lower consumption.  <\/li>&#13;\n<li><strong>Accelerate smoothly:<\/strong> although we know you like to feel the torque in accelerations, it is not the best companion for consumption. <strong>A linear acceleration is your best ally<\/strong> since our engine will not need a greater consumption of fuel to push your motorcycle from 0 to 100.<\/li>&#13;\n<li><strong>Use long gears whenever possible:<\/strong> we know that on winding roads it is not possible to use long gears, but whenever possible we recommend using them. This is because <strong>our engine will run at lower revolutions, and even, if we keep our speed constant, we can even circulate without consumption<\/strong>, since the very inertia of our movement may be enough to push us and keep the engine running. <\/li>&#13;\n<li><strong>Anticipate braking:<\/strong> if you anticipate your braking and gear changes you will achieve <strong>more efficient driving,<\/strong> not only in terms of fuel consumption, but also in consumption of tires and brake pads.<\/li>&#13;\n<li><strong>Do you have something in that trunk?:<\/strong> ask yourself if it is necessary to carry extras such as trunks or suitcases when picking up your motorcycle. <strong>Any extra weight on the motorcycle will make your consumption increase.<\/strong><\/li>&#13;\n<\/ul>&#13;\n&#13;\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When does more fuel fit in my tank? In the morning or in the afternoon? <\/h2>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>T<strong>he answer is first thing in the morning.<\/strong> This is due to the expansion of the volume of gasoline with respect to the ambient temperature.
